ASPCA License Plate Program

Animal Friendly License Plates in Maryland and Virgnia help groups like Dewey Animals get the funding they need to rescue animals in need.

"Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized each year in America due to lack of good homes at a cost of approximately 2 billion dollars. Animal shelters and rescue groups do a wonderful job of adopting out animals, but it is like trying to empty a river with a bucket.  The real solution -- is preventing the excess from being born in the first place. Prevention is both life-saving and money-saving. It also prevents the suffering of homeless animals by solving the problem before it begins!  The Animal Friendly License Plate program, with its focus on spay/neuter is part of the solution. New Jersey (the first state to implement the program -- in 1993) has raised over $2 million for spay/neuter to date!!  It is just a win-win situation. The Animal Friendly License Plates provide people who want to financially help animals with a special way to do so, and they raise the awareness of the public about the importance of spaying and neutering. Plus, they are a wonderful way for people to show how much they care about animals."
